The Buyobo Table Tennis Club Education Fund
We believe that talent and education should co-exist because both present pivotal life shaping opportunities in the lives of young people.
For many children living in rural areas like Buyobo, going to school is a daily battle, and staying there is another challenge altogether. It is not just about affording school fees, it’s about walking long distances & doing so without shoes, studying without books, missing classes because there is no money for uniform, exam fees, or proper sanitation for menstruating girls, and sometimes dropping out early to work in family fields.
TALENT IS EVERYWHERE BUT OPPORTUNITY IS NOT
At Buyobo Table Tennis Club (BTTC), we believe that talent should never be limited by poverty.
That is why we started the Education Fund Initiative (EFI), to use table tennis as a doorway to education, the objective is to reduce the financial and social barriers that prevent talented, hardworking children from fully participating in both education and sport.
The Fund provides:
1. Supplementary school Fees contributions, working together with the parents, guardians or other caretakers of the children.
2. Scholastic materials, such as books, uniforms, shoes, and other school requirements.
3. Mentorship and Hope – Showing and providing a platform to grow their talent beyond the village.
Education is the only way to break the cycle of poverty.
When you educate a child in Buyobo, you educate a family and inspire a whole community.
The Education Fund is not charity, ladies and gentlemen; it is an investment in futures.
